Welcoming Message from the Dean of Faculty of Medicine

 

Welcome to our home on the web. If you are reading this, then I presume you are contemplating medicine as your career of choice. Medicine is a noble profession and the study of medicine requires one to be a determined individual who is willing to accept that a doctor’s job is about passion, commitment and a desire for life-long learning.

If you can see yourself as such, then we are here to assist and guide you to be that individual that you will be glad to see as attending doctor. In our medical programme, you will be trained and taught by experienced medical specialists and lecturers.

A doctor’s job requires the ability to integrate the various sub-fields of knowledge related to medicine, and so our integrative system of learning will ensure that you obtain that required knowledge in the field of medicine. Through the application of an integrated learning approach, we will ensure that you are able to draw the big picture involving the various medical knowledge required to handle a medical issue.

A good doctor needs to be in tune with the changing knowledge and the changing technology in medicine. The rapid and vast advancement of science and technology means that new medical knowledge and medical approaches continue to be developed for continuous improvement in the medical field, and so it is imperative that you develop the passion for lifelong learning and hone independent skills to seek that knowledge. The teaching and learning process here utilizes the student-centred approach to ensure that you develop the passion and independent learning skills for lifelong learning.

Welcoming Message from the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy & Health Sciences

Faculty of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (FPHS) offers pharmacy and other health-related programmes. The faculty produces health professionals who will contribute to the overall health and well-being of our society.

Excellent academic programmes are being offered by the faculty with each course devoting a significant number of hours to hands-on training. Students are exposed to actual patient-care settings that ensure the acquisition of the necessary skills. Modern methods of teaching and training are employed, with up-to-date instruments and methodology (such as the Industry 4.0 concept) in delivering knowledge and skills.

The faculty also embraces the unique and far-sighted We4Asia vision of UniKL. Achieving high academic excellence is the ultimate goal in designing programmes with facilities that support students’ overall university experience.

Special programmes on entrepreneurship and soft skills development ensure that graduates succeed in their future endeavours. Strong financial management of UniKL guarantees that the faculty and the university take an active role in HTVET development for the future of the nation.

This faculty also strives to incorporate latest insights and developments in pharmacy and related health sciences (such as physiotherapy and medical imaging technology) to produce health care professionals who will be equipped to meet new challenges in health and wellness development of the nation in the future.
